Tutoring by Engineers is holding two seminars this December in Southampton for real estate brokers, developers, builders, appraisers and others. The Ins and Outs of Pre-Purchase Inspections and Due Diligence in Real Estate Transactions and Everything you ever wanted to know about Affordable Housing (but were afraid to ask). These classes will be given at two convenient times on Friday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 18, and qualified participants will be eligible to receive 3 CEUs for each class.
The Ins and Outs of Pre-Purchase Inspections and Due Diligence in Real Estate Transactions will help real estate brokers understand what a pre-purchase inspection entails, and how it can help them, and their sellers, address issues even before marketing the property so they can avoid surprises and delays at the closing. Builders will learn which items will be scrutinized by design professionals during an inspection. The class covers all the various aspects and elements of pre-purchase inspections as well as the due diligence process prior to purchasing real estate, including codes and standards, site data, public records, and related reviews (surveys, environmental reviews, zoning, etc.).
Everything you ever wanted to know about Affordable Housing (but were afraid to ask) is of particular interest to developers and others in the real estate industry who want to understand what is affordable housing in our local community. The class gives an overview of affordable housing programs and the related concepts, definitions, acronyms and special features. It will describe eligibility requirements under the major programs and explain the affordable housing development process including program administration, site selection and financing options.
All seminars will be held at Hamptons Virtual Office Center, 53 Hill St., Southampton Village, NY. This location is handicap accessible. Parking is available at the rear of the building.
Register on-line through December 1, 2015. A charitable donation to TBE of $15 is suggested. For further information, call Marc A. Chiffert, P.E. at 631-353-3375 or email maida@tutoringbyengineers.com.
