Race to save the sea turtles in a family-friendly paddle boat battle hosted by the New York Marine Rescue Center on Saturday, July 30 starting at 9:15 a.m. on the Peconic River in Riverhead — rain date of Sunday, July 31.
Course options include a 2.5-mile solo amateur race and five-mile solo competitive race with first place medals to awarded for each category, class and distance. Another option is a team 2.5-mile four-person challenge will be held for both paddle boards and kayak races. Finally, a casual paddle option.
Registration for the solo and casual events will cost $85 per person if submitted before July 11 or $95 afterwards. Rental canoes and kayaks are available for $35. Participants can begin check-in at 7:30 a.m.
The team challenge registration will cost $1,000 per team and must be submitted by July 20. Rental canoes and kayaks will be available for $15. Participants can begin check-in at 9 a.m. with the race to start at 11 a.m.

All proceeds for the event will go to the NY Marine Rescue Center to help them save the sea turtles.
