“Abandoned Beauties” – Photography by Holly Hunt on exhibit May 10 to Sept. 2 at Rosalie Dimon Gallery at the Jamesport Manor Inn.
Artist statement: “In 2014, I decided to incorporate my long time hobby of urban exploration into my photography. One day I brought along my camera as I crawled through a hole in the ground to explore an old psychiatric center. As I turned the dark corners, pushed away the cobwebs and stepped over piles of wallpaper, dirt and rotted pieces of wood, something wonderful transpired. In that moment, my photography collection Abandoned Beauties started. Now I make it my mission to focus on finding beauty in the abandoned, dirty and unkempt. My dream is to show the world that beauty can be found in anything and anywhere.”
Artist’s Reception: Sunday, July 14, from 3 to 5 p.m.
