A book sale and signing of “Maritime Smuggling on Long Island: From Pirates to Rumrunners” by Bill Bleyer will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m.
Author-historian-reporter Bleyer will explain why pirates like Captain Kidd and others were attracted to Long Islands. The author will have all five of his books available for a flat fee of $24 to $26 each. The event includes wine, cheese and light refreshments an admission to other current exhibits.
