DESCRIPTION:The Jamesport Meeting House is set to host an evening of classical music featuring the renowned Borromeo String Quartet on Saturday\, Oct. 11. The concert\, which begins at 7:30 p.m.\, is part of the Meeting House’s premier “1731 Series” that brings internationally acclaimed musicians from the metropolitan area to Jamesport. \nThe Borromeo String Quartet is known for its fresh interpretations of classical music and has been praised by The Boston Globe for its “edge-of-the-seat performances.” The program for the evening includes: \n– String Quartet No. 25 in C Major\, Op. 20\, No. 2 by Franz Joseph Haydn\n– Three Pieces for String Quartet by Igor Stravinsky\n– String Quartet No. 14 in A-flat Major\, Op. 105 by Antonín Dvorak \nFollowing the concert\, attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with the artists during a reception. Tickets for the concert are priced at $20 and can be purchased at the Jamesport Meeting House website. The Meeting House\, the oldest public building on the East End of Long Island\, is not only valued for its historical significance\, but also for its excellent acoustics.
