DESCRIPTION:Riverhead Free Library will host a one-day New York State Safe Boating Certification Course sponsored by Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio and offered by Safe Boating America. \nPre-registration is required\, and seating is limited. Participants must be at least 10 years old and should register online in advance and bring their paid receipt to class. A course book will be provided upon arrival. \nThe class meets New York State and U.S. Coast Guard requirements for personal watercraft operation and youth and adult boating certification\, where applicable. Instruction covers boating fundamentals and safety\, including accidents and emergencies\, boat operation\, boats and motors\, equipment\, fueling and ventilation\, navigation\, numbering and registration\, personal watercraft\, rules of the road\, safe loading and powering\, and the marine environment. \nParticipants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate the same day. A temporary certification valid for 90 days will be issued. Adults age 18 and older must mail a $10 fee to New York State within that period to receive the permanent certification card. DESCRIPTION:Northeast Stage will hold open auditions for its summer production of Shakespeare’s “All’s Well That Ends Well\,” part of the company’s annual Shakespeare in the Park series. \nAuditions will be held April 20 and 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greenport. Actors may arrive at any point during the audition window. Performers should prepare about 10 lines from a Shakespearean monologue\, either dramatic or comedic\, and be ready to read sides from the play. A headshot and resume are welcome but not required. \nCallbacks are scheduled for April 22. Rehearsals begin in late April and continue through June\, with performances touring parks and libraries across the North Fork and surrounding areas throughout July. Actors of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to audition.
