Fleece & Fiber Festival

The Fleece & Fiber Festival, one of Long Island’s largest celebrations of fiber arts and crafts, will take place at the Hallockville Museum Farm on May 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event offers an immersive experience in the life cycle of fiber, from sheep to sweater. Dozens of fiber artisans will showcase their talents, demonstrate their traditional crafts, and sell their creations. Visitors can also participate in hands-on demonstrations. New this year will be a children’s activity area and a petting zoo. Among the exhibitors and vendors will be live sheep shearing by Tabbethia Haubold-Magee of Long Island Yarn and Farm, spinners transforming raw fiber into yarn, weavers creating cloth, and knitters and crocheters showcasing their creations. Admission is $10 per person. In case of rain, the event will be held on May 21.
