Fourth annual Earth Day celebration

Saturday, April 22
This event is fun for the whole family. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Sponsored by the Town of Southold, the event is free, dog-friendly and picnicking is encouraged.

Join Group For The East End along with many other local organizations and artisans at Downs Farm Preserve to celebrate Earth Day. Take a guided nature walk, create fun nature crafts, watch live animal demonstrations, listen to live music, and so much more.

Peconic Land Trust will lead a nature history hike at 11 a.m. STAR Foundation will host a live animal presentation at 12 p.m. Hikes will continue throughout the day, and participants are invited to explore the Nature Center and trails on their own as well. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with Group educators to learn about the many programs at Downs Farm Preserve throughout the year, and other initiatives as well.

Sunday, April 23 kicks off National Volunteer Week, so it’s also a great chance to learn about and get involved in the Group’s many volunteer efforts across the East End.

The event will take place rain or shine, but we’re hoping for shine.

The event is free, but free-will donations are greatly appreciated.
