“Juneteenth Tribute to the Heroes of Black Music” to play at Suffolk Theater

Celebrate the history of Black musicians and their impact on music on Friday, June 17 at 8 p.m. at Suffolk Theater.

The film will feature rare footage of performances of iconic Black musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Sly & The Family Stone, Prince, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Michael Jackson and many more. The evening will be hosted by the film compiler Joe Lauro of Historic Films Archive.

Tickets will cost $15 and can be purchased online by clicking here. Doors, bar and restaurant open at 7 p.m.
