The book sale and signing of “Long Island Migrant Labor Camps: Dust for Blood” by Mark A. Torres will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 1 p.m. at Suffolk County Historical Society.
The book examines the period after World War II when migrant workers were lured to the eastern end of Long Island with the unfulfilled promises of good wages and decent housing. This led to the deadly slum-like conditions.
The event will feature a discussion by the author and refreshments. Tickets are free for members and $8 for non-members.
