DESCRIPTION:The North Fork Arts Center is hosting a special evening to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. The event\, titled ‘NFAC: Honoring 250 Years of the Marines’\, will be held on Nov. 15\, 2025\, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will begin with a screening of Good Morning\, Vietnam\, a beloved 1987 film starring Robin Williams. The film tells the story of an irreverent radio DJ who brings laughter and heart to soldiers stationed overseas. After the screening\, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a conversation with Marine veteran Gerry Byrne. Byrne will share reflections on what it means to serve and to continue serving beyond active duty. The event aims to honor the stories\, perspectives\, and contributions of veterans to the community. All proceeds from the event will go to the Woodruff Foundation\, supporting programs that serve veterans and their families. The cost to attend the event is $25. This is an opportunity to celebrate courage\, camaraderie\, and the enduring spirit of the Marines through film\, reflection\, and community connection.
