SUMMARY:NFAC SELMA Screening and Discussion
DESCRIPTION:North Fork Arts Center and Coming to the Table North Fork are hosting a special Black History Month screening of “Selma\,” Ava DuVernay’s powerful film that chronicles Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic 1965 voting rights campaign. The event takes place on Feb. 15\, 2025\, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. \n“Selma” is a poignant portrayal of a pivotal moment in civil rights history. The film’s screening will be followed by a thoughtful discussion led by community leaders Rev. Natalie Wimberly\, Village Clerk Candace Hall\, and Greenport Student Faith Welch. This is a unique opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the historical and current issues surrounding civil rights. \nThe event is free of charge and open to all.
