Suffolk County will offer opioid overdose training classes in September at two local locations. The class will take place Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. at Riverhead Free Library and Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport.
Participants will be able to recognize an opioid overdose, administer intranasal naloxone (Narcan) and take additional steps while EMS teams are in transit.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion and an emergency resuscitation kit that includes the intranasal Narcan.
