The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps. will host an open house on Sunday, May 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors will be able to tour the ambulances, check out equipment, learn hands-only CPR and familiarize themselves with AEDs. There will also be coloring books and giveaways for kids, food and beverages and a raffle ticket.
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office will also be onsite to discuss and distribute the Yellow Dot Program and Operation Safe Child ID. The Yellow Dot program is used in cases of motor vehicle crashes and allows first responders to know that you have important information in your glove compartment. Operation Safe Child ID allows law enforcement to have vital information if a child were to go missing such as up-to-date photos of the children and other descriptive details.
