SUMMARY:Strawberries and Stories at Golden Acres Organic Farm
DESCRIPTION:Golden Acres Organic Farm invites families to their ‘Strawberries and Stories’ event on June 1. The event will feature four sessions of storytime\, starting at 9:30 a.m.\, 10:30 a.m.\, 11:30 a.m.\, and 1 p.m. Each session will be led by Maria Kata\, a Waldorf early childhood educator with 15 years of experience at The Waldorf School of Garden City. Maria will share a seasonal strawberry story and puppet play suitable for children aged three to seven. \nIn addition to the storytime\, the farm’s fields will be open for strawberry picking all day\, weather permitting. The cost for U-Pick is $12 per quart. Despite the cost for strawberry picking\, the event itself is free to attend. \nMaria Kata\, the event’s storyteller\, is a certified early childhood educator who holds a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She is passionate about preserving the magic of childhood and is excited to offer children’s and parenting support programs in Suffolk County. \nPlease note that the event will take place rain or shine.
