DESCRIPTION:North Fork Arts Center will host an improv comedy workshop for students ages 11 to 15\, taught by screenwriter\, comedian and arts educator Katy Berry. \nThe weeklong class runs Monday\, July 6\, to Friday\, July 10\, and introduces the fundamentals of improv through games and exercises focused on yes-and\, world building\, truth in comedy\, listening and trusting instincts. No prior acting experience is required. \nThe workshop is limited to 16 students. Participants should bring their own snacks and drinks. \nThe program concludes with a live class show for friends and family on Saturday\, July 11\, at 10 a.m. Scholarships are available by request.

This year’s festival has been relocated from East Main Street to the Riverhead Town Campus due downtown construction and the temporary relocation of East End Arts Council headquarters. \nThe event remains free and is open and accessible for people of all ages and abilities. \nThis year’s festival activities include an interactive silk screening merch table\, drum circle with Bassanio Clark\, Riverhead Free Library’s SLED\, a chill zone courtesy of RISE Life Services\, Kidz Course in the courtyard alongside other kid-friendly activities provided by the Riverhead Lions Club\, live portraits by Gary Long\, live poetry with All One Voice\, tarot card readings with Peter Reilly\, a community America250 art project with fiber artist Sherry Davis\, and more. \nArtist “squares” can be purchased online starting at $25 or onsite at the festival.
