A two-day pass is available for $8. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. \nThe event is located in the heart of Long Island’s wine country\, surrounded by more than 40 wineries along the north shore and numerous restaurants along Main Road (Rte. 25). DESCRIPTION:The Long Island Mineral and Geological Society (LIMAGS) is hosting its 40th annual gem\, mineral\, jewelry\, and fossil show on the last weekend in July. The event will be held at the air-conditioned Mattituck-Cutchogue Jr/Sr High School and will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday\, with the last entry at 4:30 p.m. \nMore than 30 dealers will be showcasing a variety of items including fine gemstones\, jewelry\, fossils\, minerals\, and meteorites. There will also be exhibits on Long Island geology\, a scavenger hunt\, geode cracking\, metaphysicals\, children’s activities\, jewelry repair\, and free geology samples. \nEntrance to the event is $6 per person\, or $5 with a flyer\, postcard\, or digital entry. A two-day pass is available for $8. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. \nThe event is located in the heart of Long Island’s wine country\, surrounded by more than 40 wineries along the north shore and numerous restaurants along Main Road (Rte. 25). Other nearby attractions include Tanger Outlets shopping\, Atlantis Marine Aquarium\, Splish Splash Water Park\, Riverhead Raceway\, destination farm stands\, beaches\, fishing\, kayaking\, and golf courses. The Rte. 58/25 commercial corridor and downtown Riverhead offer additional dining\, shopping\, and hotel facilities.

DESCRIPTION:The Riverhead Faculty and Community Theatre (RFCT) will stage The Foreigner\, a two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue on Aug. 9\, 10\, 11\, 16\, 17 and 18. \nThe plot unfolds in a fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County\, Georgia\, where two Englishmen\, Froggy and Charlie\, find themselves amidst a whirlwind of secrets and scandals. Froggy introduces Charlie as a ‘foreigner’ who doesn’t understand English\, leading the lodge’s guests to reveal their secrets in his presence. \nPerformances on Aug. 9-11 will take place at the Jamesport Meeting House\, 1590 Main Road in Jamesport. Performances on Aug. 16-18 will take place at the North Shore United Methodist Church\, 260 Route 25A in Wading River. \nShowtimes are 7 p.m. on Aug. 9\, 10\, 16\, and 17\, and 2 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 18. \nTickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. \nTickets for the Jamesport shows can be purchased at the door. \nTickets for the Wading River shows can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 631-929-6075. \nMore information about the cast and other details can be found on RFCT’s Facebook page.
