DESCRIPTION:The Town of Riverhead’s annual spring STOP Day will take place on Saturday\, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riverhead Town Highway Department headquarters\, 1177 Osborn Avenue\, Riverhead. \nRiverhead Town residents are invited to dispose of household chemicals\, pesticides\, herbicides\, fungicides\, electronic wastes\, medications and other items to the highway department on May 4 for free\, safe disposal. \nThe purpose of the STOP program is to prevent household hazardous wastes from being landfilled or incinerated\, which can cause groundwater and air pollution. \nThe medication take-back event during STOP Day is organized by the Rivereadh Community Coalition for Safe and Drug-Free Youth. \nThe second STOP Day this year will take place on Oct. 26. \nSee the flyer below for products that can be disposed of at the STOP Day event\, as well as items that will not be accepted. \nSTOPNotification1518011255010224PM\n

The Jamesport Meeting House\, erected in 1731\, is the oldest public structure on the East End and is prized for its superb acoustics.
