Other experiences on offer range from wine tastings and spa treatments across North Fork and Shelter Island to boat cruises.  \nThis year\, CAST will honor Andy Tarshis with the annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award. The event will be hosted by Chip Williford and Maggie Bloomfield and will feature Mindy Kronenberg\, Lee Gil\, and Lennon Stravato\, followed by an open mic session. The event will also be available on Zoom. \nMindy Kronenberg is a widely published poet\, writer\, critic\, and professor of writing and the arts at SUNY Empire State University. Lee Gil is a writer and activist based in the New Jersey/New York area\, with expertise in poetry\, film and television scripts\, short stories\, and novellas. Lennon Stravato is a poet\, screenwriter\, and Emmy-nominated producer of The Bay. He will be reading from his debut book\, The Inner Dialect. \nThe reading will be recorded and available on the event’s website. SUMMARY:Reception for 'Women of Substance' at William Ris Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The William Ris Gallery is opening its doors for a special reception on July 27\, honoring three artists: Julie Friedman\, Deborah Katz\, and Stacey Schuman. Each of these artists draws their inspiration from nature and is dedicated to preserving it. Their artwork\, a reflection of their individual impressions of the environment\, will be on display for the first time at the gallery. The reception also marks the gallery’s ninth summer on the East End. The artworks are hung and ready for preview. The gallery is open from Thursday to Monday\, between noon and 5 p.m. The reception is free to attend.
