DESCRIPTION:The Riverhead Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free movie night with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream at the town square Friday evening\, Sept. 26. \nThe event features a showing of Dog Man\, a 2025 American animated action comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and based on the popular children’s graphic novel series by Dav Pilkey. \nDog Man is a spin-off of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie and the second film in the Captain Underpantsfranchise. \nBring th whole family for a night filled with adventure\, friendship\, and laughs as Dog Man and his friends work together to stop the villainous Petey the Cat and save the day. \nThe movie starts at 7 p.m. All movie-goers will be treated to free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. \nThe event is made possible by a grant from the East End Tourism Alliance\, with support by Robert James Salon\, Riverhead Lions Club\, Riverhead Townscape\, Jerry and the Mermaid\, North Fork Chocolate\, Get Arty\, Hamptons Luxury Discount Realty\, Dexus Project\, Shampaige Island\, Dark Horse Restaurant\, Ben & Jerry’s\, A Book Place and the Chamber of Commerce. \nBring a blanket or chair and enjoy! DESCRIPTION:Join the Riverhead community for the annual Christmas parade\, bonfire and tree lighting on Saturday\, Dec. 7. \nThe day will kick off  with the Lions Club Christmas Parade at 1 p.m. Santa Claus will make a grand entrance by boat at 2:30 p.m. The highlight of the event\, the tree lighting\, will take place at 5:15 p.m.\, followed by the community bonfire on the riverfront. SUMMARY:Riverhead Cardboard Boat races
DESCRIPTION:The Riverhead Cardboard Boat Races\, hosted by the Riverhead BID & Riverhead Chamber\, will take place Aug. 3 at the Peconic Riverfront.  (Rain date: Aug. 17.) \nWatch competitors race boats made of cardboard and duct tape on the Peconic River. \nThe race includes various categories such as the Youth Regatta\, Yacht Club Regatta\, Outlaw and Pirate Race. Captains and skippers will paddle their cardboard boats as quickly as possible before they sink. \nWinning participants will be awarded trophies and additional prizes like Best Spirit\, Titanic Sinking\, Best Constructed\, and Most Creative. \nRaces start at 11 a.m.\, but come down to the riverfront early to check out the boats lined up on the grass along the boardwalk before the races begin.
