To address this\, the Riverhead Free Library is hosting an informative session titled ‘Ticks and Tick-Borne Disease – What You Need to Know’. The event will be held on May 15\, from noon to 1 p.m. \nThe speaker for the session is Jerry Simons\, PA-C\, a member of the medical advisory panel of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Regional Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center\, and an assistant professor at Stony Brook Medicine. He will discuss the types of diseases carried by the different species of ticks found on eastern Long Island. The discussion will cover symptoms\, diagnostic tests\, and treatment options that are available. \nIn addition to this\, attendees will also be provided with tips on preventing tick bites. DESCRIPTION:Quincy Egginton\, a passionate watercolorist based on the South Fork\, will be showcasing her artwork at the Riverhead Free Library. The exhibition opens on April 22 and will be on display through May 28\, 2025\, with an artist’s reception on May 3  from 2 to 4 p.m. \nEgginton frequently participates and exhibits on both the North and South Forks and is a part of many organizations on the East End of Long Island. She also enjoys teaching students of all ages\, further spreading her love for art. The exhibition is free to attend\, making it a great opportunity for all to appreciate the local art scene.
