SUMMARY:Putting Your Garden Beds to Bed: Leave the Leaves
DESCRIPTION:ReWild Long Island will host a presentation and discussion on eco-friendly fall garden cleanup\, focused on the benefits of leaving fallen leaves in place to support pollinators and other wildlife and to build healthier soil. \nThe program will cover why leaves matter in the garden\, how they can be used as natural mulch and fertilizer\, and practical ways to “leave the leaves” while still keeping a yard manageable. Presenters will also address common concerns\, including ticks and mosquitoes\, and steps homeowners can take to stay safe. \nThe talk will be led by Nikki Vivion\, Ann Sande\, Sharon Kelly and Nancy DePas Reinertsen\, described as master gardeners\, educators and environmental advocates. Free seeds will be available while supplies last. Registration is recommended.
