26th Annual Snapper Tournament at the Peconic Riverfront

The 26th Annual Snapper Tournament, organized by the Town of Riverhead’s Recreation Department, is set to take place on Sept. 16, 2023, at the Peconic Riverfront. This event aims to encourage both youth and adults to participate in fishing while raising funds for the Recreation Department’s Scholarship Fund.

The tournament will start with on-site registration at 9 a.m., followed by the commencement of the tournament at 10 a.m. Fishing will end at 2 p.m., with prizes and trophies awarded thereafter.

Prizes for the event include a rod/reel for the first-place winner in each division, and trophies for the top three finishers in each division. Additionally, there will be plenty of raffles from local businesses.

The first 50 registrants will be given T-shirts, so early registration is encouraged for those who want to secure their T-shirt size. The entry fee for the tournament is $10 for youth and $20 for adults (16 and above).

This event is not just about competition, but also about community involvement, with proceeds going towards a worthy cause. So come out and enjoy a day of fishing on the beautiful Peconic Riverfront!
