On Saturday, June 28, the Jamesport Meeting House will host a performance by the Accord Treble Choir, an all-women a cappella ensemble known for their diverse repertoire spanning various styles, eras and cultures. The concert will start at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a meet-the-artists reception.
The choir will perform a program of works composed exclusively by women, entitled “Mother Earth.” This program honors humans’ connection to the earth and the myriad identities and experiences that fall under the umbrella of “woman.” The music to be performed includes the eco-cantata “Urgent Earth” by NYC composer Stefania de Kenessey and pieces by Zanaida Robles, Libby Larsen, Chen Yi, Sarah Kirkland Snider, Katerina Gimon, Eva Ugalde, Joan Szymko, and more.
Tickets for the Accord Treble Choir concert are priced at $20. Advance purchase is recommended as the event is expected to be popular. Tickets can be purchased at www.jamesportmeetinghouse.org.
