Annual rubber duckie race on Reeves Bay

Friends of the Big Duck will hold its 14th annual Rubber Duckie Race on Reeves Bay, with viewing from the lawn of the Flanders Men’s Club, down the access road just east of the Big Duck.

The family-friendly fundraiser is free to attend and benefits Friends of the Big Duck, steward of Big Duck Ranch. For a $5 donation per entry, or five entries for $20, participants are assigned a number that corresponds to a rubber duck launched into Reeves Bay at noon.

Prize baskets, including Big Duck items and gift certificates from local merchants, will be awarded for first, second, third and last place. Winners do not need to be present. The event will also include games and giveaways for children, and a possible surprise guest.

Pre-registration is available online. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 23.
