Artist showcase: Lauren Prochera, pyrography artist

The Riverhead Free Library is hosting an artist showcase featuring the work of Lauren Prochera, a pyrography artist. Pyrography is the art of burning designs into wood with a handheld heat tool. Using just one tool tip, Prochera creates detailed pieces ranging in size from small ornaments to large wall art. The showcase will be held during Sept. and Oct., providing ample opportunity to appreciate the beauty of this unique art form up close. The event is free to attend and open to all.
