Beach Cleanup at Iron Pier Beach

More and more marine animals are being affected by marine debris. The New York Marine Rescue Center is organizing beach cleanups on Sunday, April 16 and Sunday April 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to remove debris from beaches.

One of the cleanups on April 16 will take place at Iron Pier Beach in Northville.

Other April 16 beach cleanups will take place at Tiana Beach, Hampton Bays and Cedar Beach on Mount Sinai.

Cleanups on April 23 will take place at FINS, Smith Point, Shirley and Crab Meadow in Fort Salonga.

The New York Marine Rescue Center is a non profit organization that runs the only rescue and rehabilitation facility for seals and sea turtles in NY state. The rate that we have seen these animals being affected by marine debris has been increasing at an alarming rate.
