The Peconic Bay Car Club will hold its second annual Blessing of the Cars car show on the grounds of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead, 9 a.m. till 3 p.m.
The Spring Dust Off show will feature antique and classic vehicles, including a fully restored 1930 Duesenberg convertible berline. GT Joey Limongelli will serve as emcee and will bring select cars onto a red carpet for interviews with owners.
Crystal trophies will be awarded for best in show in pre- and post-World War II categories, along with an antique motorcycle trophy. Commemorative ribbons will be given to the first 125 cars. The Rev. Bohdan Hedz will offer a blessing of the cars.
DJ Jerry will play music ranging from the big band era to early rock and roll. Period dress is encouraged, with prizes for outfits. Food and raffles will be available.
Proceeds will support the church’s ongoing relief efforts for Ukraine, including shipments of food, medical supplies and clothing.
