BREAK OUT!, a one-act play by Maggie Bloomfield and Susan Dingle, will be performed at the Jamesport Meeting House on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. The two-woman show is a vivid exploration of recovery, told through poems and monologues. These stories stem from the contrasting worlds of Greenwich Village, Broadway, and Hollywood. The play premiered at the Southampton Cultural Center in 2016 and was selected for the East End Fringe Festival at the Vail Leavitt Theatre in Riverhead in 2017. Both performances were to sold-out crowds.
Maggie Bloomfield is an award-winning writer and psychotherapist from the South Fork, who co-hosts Poetry Street at the Riverhead Library. Susan Dingle is a clinical social worker, poet, and preacher, and a long-time resident of the North Fork. Together, they share their experiences and perspectives on recovery through this powerful performance.
Tickets for the show are priced at $20 and can be purchased at www.jamesportmeetinghouse.org.
