Don McLean performs at the Suffolk in Riverhead in a concert tied to America’s 250th anniversary and the 55th anniversary of his song “American Pie.” The program highlights McLean’s career and catalog, including “American Pie,” “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)” and “Castles in the Air,” along with notes on his recent releases and honors.
McLean is a Grammy Award honoree, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and a recipient of the BBC lifetime achievement award. “American Pie” is included in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry and was named a top five song of the 20th century by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Tickets go on sale to the public Feb. 20.
