On Thursday, July 31, North Fork Arts Center invites you to a special screening of the documentary film Drop Dead City, followed by a Q&A session with directors Michael Rohatyn and Peter Yost. The film steps into the grit and chaos of 1970s New York, chronicling the city’s legendary fiscal crisis. When bankruptcy loomed and the Big Apple teetered on the edge, an unlikely crew of rookies, rivals, fixers and flexers came together to rewrite the city’s fate. Told with sharp insight and surprising humor, Drop Dead City digs into this dramatic, little-known chapter of American urban history—one that shaped the future of cities across the country. The screening begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a talkback. The cost of attendance is $25.
