“Fox Chase Boy” screening and discussion with co-directors Gerad Argeros and Kaya Dillon

November 14, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

$30.00

North Fork Arts Center will screen the short documentary “Fox Chase Boy,” followed by a discussion with co-directors Gerad Argeros and Kaya Dillon.

The film follows Argeros, who, as a child in the early 1980s, was abused by the Rev. James Brzyski in the Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. After the deaths of other victims, Argeros began shaping his experience into a one-man live performance that uses humor and nostalgia to confront the lasting impact of abuse on both survivors and their communities.

Built around early neighborhood performance footage, the documentary weaves Super 8 film with live storytelling, along with testimonials and reflections from family members and others in Argeros’ Northeast Philadelphia hometown. The film examines how a neighborhood finds language to describe and face collective trauma, while Argeros works to reclaim agency in his own story and memorialize those who were lost.
