G.E. Smith & The American Blues with Special Guest Larry McCray at The Suffolk

On Friday, March 8 at 8 p.m., G.E. Smith & The American Blues series is back with special guest Larry McCray. G.E. Smith, an Emmy-award winning bandleader for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, is one of the most sought-after blues guitarists and musicologists globally. He has toured extensively, playing in the bands of Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, and recording with artists such as Mick Jagger, Tom Waits, and many more. His first significant break came in 1979 when he teamed up with Daryl Hall and John Oates.

Joining him is special guest Larry McCray, known for his soulful, barrel-chested vocals. McCray has shared the stage with greats like BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, John Mayall, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Keb Mo, Jonny Lang, Joe Walsh, Levon Helm, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Albert Collins, and Joe Bonamassa. He has also toured with The Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule, Phil Lesh, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, and many others.
