The Jamesport Fire Department is hosting an open house on Saturday, Oct. 14. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is part of Fire Safety Week. It’s a family-friendly affair, so bring your children and grandchildren along. Here’s what you can expect:
– Fire truck and equipment displays
– Fire safety demonstrations
– A vehicle extrication
– Displays and demonstrations by area law enforcement and first responder agencies, including the State Police, Riverhead Police, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Peconic Bay Medical Center
Those interested in joining the department can get more information at the event. The Ladies Auxiliary will also be holding a yard sale. And to top it all off, there will be free hot dogs and refreshments. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the rain date is Sunday, Oct. 15.
