The Jamesport Fire Department is hosting an Open House and Ladies Auxiliary Yard Sale on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at 25 Manor Lane, Jamesport. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Sunday, Oct. 6, at the same time. The open house will feature:
– Demonstrations and information from the Jamesport Fire Department, Riverhead Police Department, New York State Troopers, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, Peconic Bay Medical Center, and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps
– Firefighters Association of the State of New York
– Free giveaways
– Refreshments
In addition to the open house, the department is also conducting a food drive to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. The food drive starts today, Oct. 5, and will continue until noon on Sunday. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the pavilion behind the firehouse or at Duffy’s Deli at 1566 Main Rd., Jamesport and the Clam Bar at Alize Brewery at 10560 Main Rd., Mattituck. At the conclusion of the food drive, a member of the Jamesport Fire Department will personally deliver the donations to North Carolina.
