Large Twill Carry-All Basket Weaving Class at Hallockville Museum Farm

The Hallockville Museum Farm is hosting a Large Twill Carry-All Basket Weaving Class on Sept. 16, 2023. This class is suitable for those interested in learning about twill weaving. The basket features ‘space-dyed’ watercolors, a full base, and leather handles.

In this class, students will learn how to lash a basket with binder canes. The materials fee at the door is $48, which covers the fibers necessary to make the basket. Attendees are asked to bring 12 or more clothespins, scissors, a pencil, a ruler, needle nose pliers, and snacks.

The class will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $50 for Hallockville Members and $65 for the general public. The class will be held at the Hallockville Museum Farm, located at 6038 Sound Ave, Riverhead.
