Southold Historical Museum will host a Revolutionary War living history encampment at its Maple Lane Campus, presented by reenactors from the Third New York Regiment. The museum grounds will be set up as a period camp, with demonstrations of what soldiers would have carried and used as they traveled to join Gen. Washington’s troops.
The day includes children’s games in the Bayview Schoolhouse and on the lawn, a Hamilton sing-along in the barn, light refreshments, vendors, and additional demonstrations and food tastings. The program will also feature a presentation of America’s birthday cake and a live cannon blast demonstration.
Funding is provided by the Robert D. L. Gardiner Foundation.
