Riverhead Free Library will host a Long Island Reads book discussion of “The Doorman” by Chris Pavone.
The novel, named one of The New York Times’ best thrillers and a notable book of 2025, is set in the Bohemia, a famous apartment building where a longtime doorman, wealthy residents and working-class staff are drawn into a night of unrest in the city. The story follows Chicky Diaz, a doorman who breaks a rule by bringing a gun to his shift, along with residents including Emily Longworth and Julian Sonnenberg, as tensions rise and secrets and loyalties are tested.
