The Suffolk Theater is set to host Manticore, a tribute to the legendary ’70s symphonic rock band, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at 8 p.m. Manticore aims to faithfully reproduce the music that had a significant impact on the music scene in the early ’70s.
The tribute band will be performing classical pieces by masters like Bach, Tchaikovsky, Bartók, Copeland, Mussorgsky, Ginastera, and Brubeck, all reinterpreted in a way the original composers could never have foreseen. These pieces are infused with the wilder elements of rock ‘n roll – distortion, rhythm, power, and flash.
The performance will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Brain Salad Surgery album, with Manticore performing all the hits from this album alongside traditional favorites like “Lucky Man” and “Fanfare For The Common Man”. The tribute band aims to bring the excitement, bombast and spirit of an ELP show right to your doorstep.
Tickets for the show range from $35 to $45, plus applicable fees, and are available online at TheSuffolk.org.
