Join us at the Riverhead Free Library for a special movie matinee on Friday, Feb. 27. We’ll be screening ‘Amistad’, a gripping film that tells the story of the 1839 revolt of Mende captives aboard a Spanish-owned ship. The controversy unfolds when the ship is captured off the coast of Long Island and the courts must decide whether the Mende are slaves or legally free.
The movie starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. As a bonus, we’ll be providing all your favorite concession stand snacks to make your movie experience even more enjoyable.
This event is free to attend, so mark your calendars and come enjoy a cinematic afternoon with us!
