The Jamesport Meeting House will host the Mudflats String Band in concert on Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. The Mudflats String Band, a group of trailblazing North Fork musicians, are known for their unique infusion of old-time roots with dynamic energy reimagined for today. The band’s instruments include traditional fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and drums, but they also add electric fiddle improvisation and rich acoustic vocals to the mix. Their sound is an original blend where tradition meets innovation, featuring pulsing grooves of timeless foot-stomping tunes, versatile arrangements, and songs that touch the heart. Tickets for the concert are priced at $20 and can be purchased in advance through the Jamesport Meeting House website. Advance purchase is recommended. The Jamesport Meeting House, erected in 1731, is the oldest public structure on the East End and is prized for its superb acoustics as well as its historic significance.
