The Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse opens its doors for the season on May 25 with a special exhibit, “Soaring Over Southold.” This exhibit showcases historic aerial photos of Southold, providing a unique perspective on how the town has evolved over the years. Visitors are invited to spot familiar houses and businesses from an aerial viewpoint.
In addition to the special exhibit, the museum offers a range of thrilling exhibits that detail the early history of the lighthouse, its keepers, and the baymen. Visitors can also learn about shipwrecks, whaling, and the famous Holland Submarine. For a panoramic view of Southold, climb the 58-foot high tower.
The museum is open on weekends from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person or $10 for families. Please note that the Southold Park District lot charges an additional $5 parking fee for non-residents.
