The North Fork Arts Center presents a special Latino Cinema Sunday featuring the film ‘Vengo Volviendo’. This unique cinematic experience is programmed with support from OLA of Eastern Long Island and will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. The film tells the story of 22-year-old Ismael who dreams of traveling to the U.S. Raised by his grandmother Mariana, a midwife and ancestral healer, after his parents emigrated from Ecuador, Ismael’s life takes a turn when his best friend Luz returns to Ecuador after eight years of living abroad. As Luz’s perspective fills Ismael with doubts about his decision to immigrate, the two friends embark on a journey across the Andes, meeting various characters and hearing stories and legends that raise troubling questions about Ismael’s destiny. The event starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $5.
