NFAC Lecture Series: Kevin Wade Discusses ‘Johnny Careless’

Join the North Fork Arts Center for an exclusive presentation by Kevin Wade, a renowned playwright, screenwriter, and television writer and producer. Wade will be discussing his first novel, Johnny Careless. His impressive credits include stage plays like Key Exchange, Mr. & Mrs, and Cruise Control, and screenplays for films like Working Girl, True Colors, Mr. Baseball, Junior, Meet Joe Black, and Maid in Manhattan. He has also made significant contributions to television, creating the ABC television drama Cashmere Mafia and serving as the showrunner, executive producer, and backseat driver for the CBS drama Blue Bloods since 2011.

Johnny Careless introduces a gritty, captivating protagonist in Police Chief Jeep Mullane, a man whose troubled past and complicated present collide when the body of his childhood friend, Johnny Chambliss, surfaces in Long Island’s wealthy North Shore.

Following the lecture, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can engage directly with Kevin Wade. A signing will follow, and books will be available for purchase through Burton’s Books on site. The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $38.
