The North Fork Arts Center is hosting a special screening of The Guy Who Got Cut Wrong, a documentary by Dana Ben-Ari that delves into the unique world of award-winning novelist Gary Shteyngart. The film explores Shteyngart’s experience with a botched circumcision, touching on themes of family, masculinity, cultural expectation, and the immigrant experience.
The screening will be followed by a live conversation with Shteyngart and Ben-Ari, offering audiences a rare opportunity to engage directly with them. They will share insights on the intersections of literature, cinema, and personal storytelling.
The evening will also celebrate Shteyngart’s literary work, including his most recent novel, Vera, or Faith, a tale of family bonds under pressure in a rapidly changing America.
The event is not free to attend, with tickets priced at $25. Books will be available for purchase on the night of the event.
