The North Fork Arts Center is hosting the inaugural exhibition of the BarTur Photo Award, showcasing the works of photographers from 23 different countries. The exhibition aims to highlight the power of photography to transcend boundaries and illuminate our shared humanity.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 14, and will kick off with an artist talkback from 3-4 p.m. The talkback will feature prominent figures in the field of photography including Kate Bubacz, head of visuals at Rest of World, James Wellford, senior photo editor for global issues at National Geographic Magazine, and Amnon Bar-Tur, the founder of the BarTur Award, photographer, curator, and entrepreneur.
Following the talkback, attendees will be treated to digital projections of the featured works and a wine and charcuterie reception from 4-5:30 p.m.
The BarTur Photo Award not only recognizes exceptional talent in the field of photography but also nurtures it by providing support to photographers at crucial stages in their artistic development. This exhibition continues that tradition by offering a platform where emerging voices can reach new audiences and established photographers can present innovative work.
The cost to attend the event is $25.
