The Riverhead Free Library is hosting the NYS Citizen Preparedness Training on July 21, 2025. This informative session, sponsored by Sen. Anthony Palumbo, is designed to equip citizens with the knowledge and tools necessary to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.
Participants will learn how to create an emergency plan and build a supply kit. The training promises to be both educational and practical, with each family receiving a free preparedness bag if at least 50 people attend.
The training will run from 1 to 2 p.m. As space is limited, registration is required. To register, visit the official website at www.prepare.ny.gov.
This is a free event, making it an accessible opportunity for all community members to learn important skills for disaster preparedness.
