Other Forms: A Multimedia Performance at Custer Observatory

August 16, 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm

$16 – $30

Custer Observatory in Southold is hosting a unique multimedia performance titled ‘Other Forms’ on Aug. 16, featuring the ambient duo Worst Night Ever. The performance will include selections from their newest album, paired with live projection art. The artists aim to create an otherworldly, multi-dimensional soundscape inspired by contrasts and similarities, and the places where the two intersect. The projection art will feature stark, abstract photography by Charles Nickles, along with found footage of the natural and human worlds.

Following the concert, observatory staff will provide guided tours of night sky objects (weather permitting) through the many telescopes on site, including the apochromatic Zerochromat telescope in the historic observation dome.

The event is not free, with tickets priced at $30 for adults and $25 for observatory members. Children under 16 can attend for free. Due to the limited availability of seats, early reservation is recommended. Attendees are advised to bring a blanket or chair for this outdoor presentation. In case of rain, a reschedule date will be announced.

The artists, Daniel Giachetti and Arthur Fleischmann, are Long Island natives who have been writing and performing music together for decades. Their various musical projects have earned them a 2025 NYFA/QAF sound art grant, licensed songs to multiple TV series, soundtracked a runway show for Neiman Marcus, played Carnegie Hall with Jon Batiste, charted on college radio, and toured everywhere from the UK to Dubai.
