North Fork Arts Center at Sapan Greenport Theatre will host a screening of the documentary “Out There: A National Parks Story,” followed by a Q&A with director Brendan Hall.
The film follows a young filmmaker and his childhood friend on a 10,000-mile road trip through America’s national parks during the centennial of the National Park Service. Along the way, they meet rangers, conservationists and visitors and explore personal stories of healing, transformation and connection tied to these places. The documentary blends cinematography with archival travelogues, posters and maps while reflecting on the legacy of the parks and their preservation.
