Penny Rugs Historical Craft Workshop at Hallockville Museum Farm

May 3, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

$10 – $40

Hallockville Museum Farm is hosting a unique Penny Rugs Historical Craft Workshop on Saturday, May 3, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop will be led by Diane Schwindt, a renowned domestic skills historian and educator.

Participants will be guided through the process of creating penny rugs, a traditional craft that dates back to the 1700s. These decorative mats are made from felted wool circles sewn in layers and were historically used as table coverings.

The registration fee for the workshop is $35 for Hallockville members and $40 for nonmembers. Please note that an additional $10 fee for supplies will be collected at the class by the instructor.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn about this historical craft and create your own penny rug. Register online at the Hallockville Museum Farm’s website.
